Kevin Scott Pottery

About

Kevin Scott is a maker and engineer living and working in Los Gatos, CA. Kevin works in many different media, but has special effection for ceramics, particularly Japanese and Japanese-inspired pots. The mix of art, craft, science, and history that can be expressed in an individual work is quite special, and presents an infinitely deep and interesting puzzle for the deeply curious.

Our studio in Los Gatos, CA is equipped with a bunch of traditional pottery making equipment, in addition to tools designed and built specifically for our ceramics practice, including several custom technical kilns and a first-of-its-kind hybrid electric kick wheel. We also sometimes fire our work in soda and wood kilns located outside of our studio.

Kevin is also the owner of Monkey Stuff, a company making tools and accessories for makers. We're the proud sponsors of the For Flux Sake podcast and supporters of Clay College Stoke in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. In Kevin's other life, he's a long-time engineer and executive in the tech industry, and is currently CTO of Microsoft.
