Kohiki Shino Chawan

This pot was a multi-fold experiment. It was testing a new clay body designed to emulate Mino mogusa. It was testing a new shino glaze and firing program for shinos. And it was testing whether or not I could use a well-understood kohiki slip to be a way to bind coarse sand feldspar chunks to the surface of the clay. The result of these experiments is a very roughly textured shino-like chawan. It may or may not be a good tea bowl, but it does have presence.
