Small Shino Chawan

This small shino chawan is made from a commercial high-iron clay body which has been roughened with granular feldspar, coarse sand, mica chunks, and sawdust. This rough surface creates texture for the iron wash and shino glaze to interact with. The wood firing create some lovely contrast between the reddish iron and the white shino glaze.
