Wood-fired Shino Chawan

This tea bowl was made from a commercial clay body that we deliberately made less perfect by adding sawdust, coarse sand, feldspar chunks, and mica. It was given an iron wash and coated with our traditional shino glaze and fired to Cone 12 in reduction in a wood kiln.
